About Us

G.A. Food Services of Pinellas County, or "G.A." as we are more informally known, was incorporated in the state of Florida in 1973. For the first several years, our primary focus was providing hot, nutritious meals to Elderly Nutrition Programs on the west central coast of the state. From our main production facility in St. Petersburg, we continue to provide this service to several programs ranging anywhere in size from 1,000 to close to 4,000 hot meals per day. With this background, you can be assured that we are familiar with the special needs and wishes of senior citizens.

G.A. began the production of pre-portioned frozen meals after moving into a modern, spacious new plant. The plant is covered by continuous U.S.D.A. inspection services, as well as U.S.F.D.A inspection. Within Florida, we provide complete meal service, utilizing our frozen meals and fresh bakery and dairy components, to Elderly Nutrition Programs as geographically distant as the Florida Panhandle and the Keys. Outside Florida, we market our meals nationally under the Sun Meadow™ brand, and are proud to report that our meals are being used in programs in over forty states.

In response to our customer's needs, G.A. Foods has expanded our product line to include the Total Meal System™, which consists of two, five or seven complete meals, including a frozen, ready-to-be-heated meal component, bread, margarine, dessert and dairy beverage. All of our meals are designed to meet or exceed the requirements of The Older American's Act Nutrition Programs meeting the RDA and DRI requirements.

In addition, we have developed a shelf stable meal line, designed for use where refrigeration is a problem. Our Shelf Stable meals work very well in Emergency Response.
